Otis, the global leader in elevator technology, has appointed Adam Orth (pictured) as its associate director for global fleet services and strategic sourcing. In his new role, Mr Orth’s overall objective is to ensure the company’s guiding principles – safety, ethics, quality – are reflected in its global fleet management programme.
Mr Orth’s previous job was as fleet services manager at General Mills (2015-2020), and prior to that as fleet management strategic specialist and subsequently assistant vice president sales at GE Capital’s fleet services (2006-2015).
In the course of his career, Mr Orth has won several awards. In 2017, he was Automotive Fleet Magazine’s Fleet Visionary Honoree for his new perspective on running a commercial fleet. In 2018, he both won NAFA’s Fleet Excellence Award and Automotive Fleet Magazine’s Professional Fleet Manager of the Year.
As for his most immediate challenge, Mr Orth says “COVID-19 has exposed further ways in which we must be prepared to protect and support each other all over the world.” Otis manages around 25,000 vehicles in over 43 countries, with the bulk of the fleet being in Europe.
